Congrats to all club members on a great turn out at Carrick-on-Suir Motor Club‘s Forest Rally yesterday. Unfortunately for the club, they lost the last stage, but Stage 5 impressed many with it’s stellar 18km distance in the woods!
Ger Lucey & Jj finished 6th overall and 1st in class after dropping a small bit of time on SS5 to Gary Kiernan and Marty McKenna.
Iarla sat back in with Mike Garahy for the woods, and the pairing finished 1st in Class 10 and 17th overall. Chris Brady was in class 10 with Gary Kelleher and the lads missed out on the spoils by shy of a minute to Mike and Iarla!
Eamonn Creedon Co-Driver continued his new partnership with Brian Brady Motorsport in another championship effort, and the lads won class 16, and finished a brilliant 18th Overall. Great seat time and experience for the two, who are planning a serious attack on the Motorsport Ireland Dual Surface Championship this year, as well as the British Rally Championship!
Eamonn McCarthy was in with Dario Tempesta in the freshly built civic, and after a minor bottom arm bending session in the morning, the lads rejoined under Rally2 and were back setting the Class 11 pace by the final stage!
Unfortunately, after a great battle for the 2WD honours, Dylan Doonan Co-driver and Owen McMackin had a minor altercation with a tree stump, which caused too much axle damage for them to continue!
